Hi guys, I'm going to WOMAD festival tomorrow, so I was hoping that people could shout out anything you think that I'm gonna need for 3 days. Weather could be either way too. It's my first festival actually staying there etc so not entirely sure. I've got a tent + girl + sleeping stuff, just those random bits you always find you need but forget to bring I need to pack tomorrow morning! I'm production crew so will be taking the car / buggy to my tent space so size / weight's not an issue! Also, anyone else from BT coming? Cheers
Wet wipes! (If you haven't got access to a decent shower) Loo roll! (-shower +toilet) Sun screen! Enjoy, festivals are fun but knackering!
The more beer the better.. Oh, and remember loads of changes of socks... Bring a hammer/mallet for the tent pegs too.
Complete lifesaver at festivals! I usually take the same gear I do when camping, tent, sleeping bag, gas screw on stove (easy to hide), wet wipes, socks, deodorant, army ration food, ear plugs (another essential at festivals), duct tape for tent repairs in the field, first aid kit, mossy repellent, body wallet for cash cards and the like, not that I expect to get mugged, but its all to easy to loose stuff after a few beers or if you're taking something illegal, and if you lose that cash card you're ****ed. And the most essential thing? BEER! You can trade almost anything else for it from other festival goers Hope you have a good one!

Are you going to be stage crew? If so, there's a few other useful things: Flashlight Leatherman/Multitool thing Drum Key All of the above have saved my bacon at shows.
Homo kit more like. What you need is: fev's 5 Day Reading Festival Essentials: % Tent % Sleeping Bag % Throw away BBQ % Steak % Bag of ice (keeps steak cold whilst travelling/setting up then chills drinks) - stay classy on evening 1 % Condoms (as many as you think you need) % Sun lotion - Factor 30 % Black bin bags for wet clothes % Wet Wipes % Bottle of JD (also acts as anti-septic when waiting for medical attention) % 24 pack of your canned beverage of choice (5% min) % Clean clothes % Extra Socks
m0o0oeh's General Festival Survival List 1. Tent, Poles & Pegs 2. Sleeping Bag 3. Camping Roll / Airbed / Camping Bed(optional, dependant on required comfort levels. 4. Hammer 5. Clothes - I personally recommend shorts and t-shirt whatever the weather, cause you're gonna dry off one heck of a lot quicker than the people with their jeans, and hoody and big coat 6. Spare Socks 7. 2 pairs of boots 8. Food - traders usually charge extortionate prices - Goat Curry and Chips at Small Nations was £6.50!!! Damned nice though!!! 9. Big Zip-Loc baggie to keep tobacco, papers, and lighter dry in case of liquid sunshine 10. Condoms - can be used to keep things dry, as well as their intended use. 11. Fluids - water, soda, pop, beer, whatever. If you're volunteering/site/stage crew, alcohol is usually heavily frowned on whilst you're on duty. Have a beer before/after your shift by all means, but be sober enough to deal with any situations that may be pushed your way. 12. Black bags - for to put rubbish, and wet clothes, sleeping bags etc. Stage Crew Addition List The head of stage crew/sound boys should have these anyway, but better safe than sorry 13. Leatherman / Multitool 14. Drum Key 15. Small replacement parts for a drum kit (bass pedal arm, hi-hat clutch, cymbal felts and washers 16. Guitar lead, with a female 6mm jack to male XLR jack just in case Site Crew Addition List The site manager should have these, but better safe than sorry 17. DUCT TAPE!!!!!!!!!1!!one! 18. 22mm ratchet spanner for unclipping Jackson fencing 19. Stanley knife or similar for removing cable ties. 20. Gloves - like the big gardening / builders gloves. I thinks thats about it. Just enjoy the experience, and chill out, relax, and don't let the punters get under your skin. Joe
Well I'm back online finally, I took just about everything you guys said, and borrowed a buggy to get my bag / tent / etc to a decent camping spot in the trader camp site. I was actually the IT crew so pretty much the most awesome job - long hours setting up then staying on site on call to fix problems (thankfully very few) so wandering around with my "access all areas at all times" pass Saw Imogen Heap, Stornoway, etc backstage / front of audience / press area, pretty cool. I'm gonna stick with this job I think! It was a bit hippy but some surprisingly great music non the less.
