Hey guys, im fairly new to modding. I've just recently purchased the aquagate max water-cooling system and am planning on expanding on it. I've only just learned a bit about the compression fittings and tubing dimensions etc. I am getting chipset waterblocks that use 1/4" threading. The tubing that comes with the aquagate is ID 3/8" OD 1/2". My friend and I ordered some tubing that is ID 3/8 OD 5/8" (before we realised it was different) Would I be right in assuming that the compression fittings designed for OD 1/2" tubing would not be safe to use with OD 5/8" (1/8" thick) tubing, as the tube walls are different and therefore the compression fitting wouldn't seal properly, which could lead to leakage? Hope this makes sense
Right, I doubt you would even be able to get the compression nut over the larger tubing to even attempt to seal it.
thanks for the speedy reply ill post pics up of the 3 completed systems, once they are complete. Of mine, one I'm building for a friend and one another friend of mine is building
