Memory Quick question regarding upgrading RAM

    As long as it's the same stuff (same timings, voltages etc) then it'll be fine. It'd be better to buy 2 new 4GB matched sticks in a set but there's no real point since you already own one.

    Thanks for the reply :) It's not that I already own one, its that im really struggling to get the price down on this build im planning, and was curious because dual-channel had a cross next to it :)

    I'd recommend getting 2x4GB sticks as then you'll have twice the bandwidth for your memory meaning better performance, in theory. However, if you are on a tight budget, either get 1 4GB stick or 2x2GB sticks (this would be my preference) and then you could add another 4GB stick or another 2x2GB sticks to match what you already have.

    Didnt think about adding another 2 x 2 kit, for some reason I'm convinced there's only 2 slots xD

    Lol that's what I'm planning to do, add another 2 sticks in when I have the money. It can sometimes make overclocks on the CPU unstable due to both banks being completely full, but other than that it's a simple way to upgrade.
