    Hey guys,

Im always having to ask random questions and i constantly feel guilty for having to make a new thread so i thought id dedicate one itself to everyone that may feel the same and want simple quick questions answered. Post a question that you'd like help in answering and hopefully we wont make so many threads for simple things!

Well heres my question, iv tried google and theres simply too much to read through and I need an answer quick for a report.

Under the Terrorist Act in the UK, how long can a person be detained? Iv found it to be 28 days but iv heard it can be for an unspecified amount of time that the government sees fit. I just need some confirmation or not of this?

Also once answered - anyone eles is free to ask their "quick question"! and we can go from there!

    Just an idea .

    :)

Yup thats right, in order to be detained for that long, the police need the approval of the magistrates court. Heres some quick info on it from the Home Office website.

I have my doubts, but money will get you a long way.

Is the mobile internet on the 3G iphone really going to be faster than EDGE with an equal if not lower latency?

I was under the impression that its your typical HSDPA connection.

When looking towards a light source (even out of a window at the sky), what are those little white things you can see? It seems like they are on your eyeball and moving around.

Oh squiggly line in my eye fluid.
I see you lurking there on the periphery of my vision.
But when I try to look at you, you scurry away.
    Are you shy, squiggly line?
Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye?
    Oh, squiggly line,
    it's alright, you are forgiven.

Among the same line, what causes those crosses you see if you look directly at light like a streetlamp? It sometimes looks as if you're seeing the world through a diffraction filter.

I was thinking of making one of these threads myself the other day. Now I have forgotten what my question was, though... :sigh:

    Cool!

I always thought that it was just dust particles that have gotten to the eyeball.

I think it's something to do with your eyelashes, move them out the way when you look at a street lamp/light and it tends to go away..

Is it illegal to have more than one trailer behind a lorry? I saw a convoy of circus lorries tootling along the motorway earlier, two of which were pulling two caravans each!

Depends on the size of the trailers and the specification of the lorries we do it with tractors so I dont see why not although on the moterway it probebly is illegal

Why do we fear the dark?

I'm fairly sure there is just a maximum permissible length (16m) - the number of trailers doesn't matter. However it's obviously more economical to have one big trailer than multiple small ones which is why it's rare to see more than one.

I'm just making a guess here but it's because we can't see that well in the dark, so we're at our most vulnerable, hence it would make sense be to fearful and be put off going out in the dark.

Interesting. It must be really hard to drive something with 2 trailers I should think.
And I am sure they were more than 16M!
