Just want to conduct a quick survey of petrol prices(any make, brand, etc) that you pay.

Got a couple of rules to keep it simple for comparsion by everyone:

    1) post your price in both USD and British pound sterling- add euros if you wish. (exchange rates at bottom).

    2) post the price both in US gallons and litres (again exchange rates at the bottom)

    3) don't bother trying to take taxes, duties off.

    Exchange Rates

    Pound to doller x1.85
    doller to pound x0.54
    Euro to pound x0.68
    pound to Euro x1.47
    Euro to Doller x1.22
    Doller to Euro x0.82
(if you don't use either of the above as your currency, then www.xe.com or Expedia Travel currency converter(menu on left hand side will be able to convert it for you)
    US gallon to litre x0.264172051
    litre to US gallon x3.7854118

Feel free to add any comments!

    $0.41 litre
    $1.55 gallon

    0.23p litre
    0.86p gallon

:D guess the prices are wee bit lower over here. and i think $1.55/gallon is too high.

That is ridiculous. It takes me almost $30 to fill up here, in the Uk that would be $94.50!!!!!!!!

I'm assuming regular unleaded, not the high-test stuff...

    $1.93 / gallon
    $0.51 / litre

    1.07 GBP / gallon
    0.28 GBP / litre

    Hope I did it correctly...

These prices are as of about 3 hours ago in Central New York State when I filled up my tank.

    unleaded fuel
    75.9 pence a litre
    £2.87 us gallon

    $1.40 a litre
    $5.25 us gallon

and just to put things in perspective
    us gallon = 3.7854118 litres
    uk gallon = 4.545 litres
£3.45 for a uk gallon of fuel equates to $6.83 for a uk gallon

Not quite, just a giant Ford beast. 1988 F-150 Custom. And I do a whole lot of driving, I've had it about 6 months and already put almost 11k miles on it.

Why is there such a HUGE difference in price? does the UK simply pile on **** loads of tax?

ya, wouldn't mind but all this tax doesn't really go to creating a nicer driving experience as far as I can see (and im sore cos unlike most UK people I get around 12-15mpg)
