I currently have no switch or hub, just two computers connected by a CAT5 crossover cable. Because the wiring goes through walls etc and as such isn't easy to replace, I wondered if I could connect it to the uplink port of a switch? If not I might just buy a RJ45 and a crimping tool and redo one of the plugs to make it into a normal cable. Where's the cheapest place to get those? Edit: Sorry just found out I CAN do that (WOOHOO!).
