Hi all. I'm looking into getting a couple of 80mm exhaust fans for the rear of my case to help with airflow. I currently have an h100i in a pull configuration pulling in outside air and blowing it directly onto the VRM daughterboard on my motherboard. I have to remove my 290, so I'm now using a 7770 with the Vapor-X fan, which is just dumping hot air into my case. The only other fan is the front 140mm stock fan that comes with the 250D working as an intake.

It's not a terrible configuration but I'd like to improve the exhaust some to help move air out of the dead spots BUT I want 80mm fans that are essentially silent. Right now, with nothing but intake fans more or less, I have a bit of a positive pressure situation.

So anyone know of any quiet 80mm fans?

These look OK and they match my case colors: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835352004&ignorebbr=1

In the current issue of Custom PC they build a rig into one of Parvum's cases and that has a mount for a smaller fan (maybe 80mm or maybe 92mm) and they recommend a particular type of fan for that spot - I'll take a look when I get home and let you know what it is :)

I put them fractal fans in my synology NAS they move lots of air and are nice and quiet. Other fan to consider are noctua (think that how spelt) but are nasty colour.

Another vote for Noctua, also a vote for Be Quiet's Silent Wings, and Noiseblocker's BlackSilent Pro's
