Im building a system for my parents and im only using a duron...ive biult some Athlon XP systems before but is it necassary to use fans like the ones used on an Athlon XP?

If anyone could reccomend a quiet suitable fan for a duron 850 then i would be very thankful! :)

the taisol 760 is a very good heatsink, and im sure any quiet fan will be sufficient...just rember that it wont necessarily be cooler unless you got case cooling...

if you want even quieter you could put on a 80 to 60mm fan adaptor and a really really quiet fan....

Don't forget that you could also splash out on an Alpha Pal8045 and use a quiet fan like an Evercool or similar! Would be rather more expensive than the Taisol 760 though, which should suffice for your needs.;)

    Akasa 765 on OCS.

Cheaper, and perfectly adequate for a Duron.

The stock Taisol 760 fan undervolts well on a Duron 850, mine's running much quieter at 7.5v, kills that 60mm whine. :D

    Excellent HSF :dude:
