I know this should go in the Rabid Hardware forum, but that site is as dead as it gets, and no one there responds to e-mails so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Their pulsing LED mod looks cool enouph, but I can't get it to work! I tried building it 2 times, and then put it in a bread board to try to put some sense into it and of course I had no luck. There is no way the resistor values can be correct, their just way too high, even if it is designed to work of 12V. Can someone who knows what their doing please tell me the correct parts to use to make this work?
is that the only thing I should change? is the capactor good? and should it be polorized or not? I think the site calls for a polorized
here's what it looks like but i now have a blue led on it and it's mounted in the front of my case http://deviantmods.com/~fatmike/videos/pulsing_LED.wmv
Or you can get rid of R6 altogether (continuous path from +12v to R1, transistor, etc.) and change R7 to whatever your led needs from an 8v input. (Linear's calculator) There's an earlier thread on this circuit here.
good point, but I'm not sure about my LED's voltage and ampage, I've got a number of different ones lying around, do you think on of those box type pots would work, or they can't handle the heat?
