Hi all, Built up my system using a swiftech WC kit (See sig). I opted against the stock fans because I wanted a bit more air flow (unfortunately I did not have space to fit a spacer between the fans and the rad). The fans were replaced with some 120mm Spire fans pushing ~70cfm at 40db - think the stock fans were around the ~40cfm at 34db. The problem I have is the fans make a nasty sound on startup if the fan controller is set to 5v (the fan is quite but more of a bearing noise). Is there any fans you could recommend that will run well at low voltages (that way if i want to push them up to full speed I can) or would I be better with some Scythe fans and run them at 12v (with no headroom to push them to full speed). Edit: Currently looking at say Scythe S-FLEX 120mm Fan SFF21F. Also note that Im running three of these, two on the radiator and one at the front of the case pushing fresh air to the rad (in theory). Cheers Paul
For rad fans, you can look at Panaflo L1As, or FrozenCPU's favorite Panaflo 120x38mm at the moment. I hate to mention them, but they do have some good fans. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2...mm_Fan_-_126CFM_FD121238HB.html?tl=g36c15s562 Always can put that on a rheobus, and call it a day.
Cheers, Ive got a Rheo on it at the moment (cant give you a link or specs cause its been discontinued) but the output voltages on it range between 5v and 12v. Paul
