Great mod, I just found one thing: When copper and aluminum are together in a watercooling loop, they will start to corrode faster.

    That's just crazy... excellent craftsmanship!

Bbg I think he's aware of that (I'm pretty sure it's already come up), and there are a number of additives that will really slow down that corrosion.

Ah, that's where anodizing comes into play :D. Or... I can use something other than water :naughty:... Or... heck I can do both...

Its a slitting saw to make very fine channels in metal, done by rotating the head of a milling machine so that it is horizontal.

    very nice, I want one.

OMG JACKPOT! and an update too! 5/31/05

Hey guys, I was digging around the old boxes we had lying around in the machine shop and what I found just made my jaw drop:
:jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: (that box in the upper left is packed full of brand new saws btw)
Some really thin saws in there, thinnest one was 0.040"
Buncha' wierd ones too, some I haven't a single clue what they're used for, like this one:

Too bad there wasn't a 1/8" saw in that pile, coulda' returned mine and gotten a good sum of money back. But anywho... I took my own saw for a spin today, but first I needed a fixture block since I didn't have a 90deg adapter for the mill.

Piece of someone's chucked away scrap that was squared and scribed.

Drilled and tapped six holes so that I could do...

this. See, it's sideways now :). Piece of scrap was so beefy that I didn't have any vibration problems either.

That saw was sharp as hell, cut through the entire slit in one pass with no difficulty whatsoever.

Slits done. I know, two of the screws are missing, had to remove them so the saw wouldn't tear them to shreds. (Fins are not bent, just the strange lense distortion of my camera).

So after a little filing with a jeweler's file:
Here's what it looks like with the fins sitting behind the nozzle array.

    and another one.

For the third time... there is no CNC! This was all done by manual machines :dremel: :).

    See ya~!

man, this is sweet. i hope the performance will be close to a copperblock. hmm...now that i think of it. are you going to be using aluminum radiators as well? b/c even an aluminum block w/ copper-cored radiators could cause corrosion i believe.
