The raid array and hardware in my sig, a pair of seagate 320's is broken.. I think :(

    Leading up to my disaster:
I was working to see what the minimum power usage of my computer was, so I undervolted and underclocked my opteron... at one point all I got was a black screen. I dont know what-if there was any beep codes because I dont have a pc speaker.

so I reached in (behind my drives) and pulled the bios reset jumper. not sure if I bumped the drive plug or not, I ended up pulling all the drives and cleaned up my cable mess.

uppon reboot it will only recognise one of my two drives at a time? and alerts me that there is a broken raid array.

Each drive is recognised by windows XP individualy and asks to format it.. (CANCEL.. hehe)

I believe I have correctly reset the bios to accept the/a raid.

    My tech question:
can I recover my files by pulling the data off the drives individualy and recombine the data? I have more than enough space with other drives I have by spanning a few volumes.

Or am I missing something, some setting after the bios reset?

If you need any more details or have a sugestion, I have about 500gb of stuff I would love to get back!

    -------------------
I have come here looking for help first because I understand raid arrays are a tricky thing and I dont want to mess it up.

    Thanks

As I often tell people - raid 0 is not raid. (The 'r' in raid stands for redundant.) Because of how a striped drive array functions, it is very very difficult to recover data from a raid 0. I wish you luck, but most likely you will not be able to recover anything.

Probably your best bet is what you are already trying - trying to get your machine to recognize the existing raid....
