    Hey all

    first off love these forums.
second, I got myslef a wd 160 se drive with a promise tech ultra100 tx2 control card. then I got a seagate 160 se put them on the card and tried to raid them. it wouldnt raid. so I tried just ide on the card. only the seagate is showing up. so I falshed the controllers bios. still nothing. but the funny thing is when I run a wd disk check in dos. there it is.

so anything blatantly obvious that I might have missed?

    Mouse

    ps
yes I know they are diff brands, but checked around, perfectly ok

There lies your problem. You need to go into the cards menu (bios) and set up an array. If you do not get a prompt to enter the menu, see if the card has any jumper settings and/or try a different pci slot. My raid card doesnt like being in certain slots.

Well there is nothing on the card, absolute nothing.
So I am going to do what I always do with computer probs.

    THROW MONEY AT IT!!!

Just going to go out and buy a new raid card see if it will work then.
Now I have another prob with another drive, but Ill post that in a new thread.
    Peace.
