    Hey,

Currently the ram i have in my pc (q6600, asus p5n-e, 8800gt 1gb) is 4gb made by elixir. Its part number is
    Code:
    M2Y1G64TU8HB4B-25C
and i have 4 sticks. This is the pdf document that i found about its product group http://www.elixir-memory.com/products/file/Elixir-DDR2-512M-B-UDIMM-R01.pdf

Now what i need to know is it worth going for some corsair sticks:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-(2x2GB)-Corsair-TwinX-XMS2-DDR2-PC2-6400-(800)-240-Pins-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-5-5-5-18
    or
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-(2x2GB)-Corsair-TwinX-XMS2-DDR2-PC2-6400-(800)-240-Pins-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-CAS-5-5-5-18-DHX
As this stuff is getting very cheap at the moment. First i would probably buy just 4gb then another 4gb later. Would i see a difference between 4gb of the DHX stuff and 4gb of my current memory? I dont care about benchmarks only visible results.

If you were to upgrade to either of those, it would be kind of sideways as they are the same specs.

If you are going to get more ram I would suggest you get some with CL4 timings, 4-4-4-12/15.

Saying that, you could probably run your elixer at CL4 by setting it to do so in the bios. Have you overclocked your system at all?

Scan have the corsair you were looking at but in the CL4 version.

Edit: To answer your question, you won't really notice any noticable difference, as I said it is a bit of sideways "upgrade", there may be some difference, but not worth getting all new ram for. If you elixer can go to CL4 easily, then getting another set of CL4 to run with it would be a good idea, mixing ram won't make any difference so long as they are the same specs. Just make sure you put them in every other slot, or however your slots are colour coded to make sure dual channel plays nice.

For example, my ram goes ocz/corsair/ocz/corsair so both sets are matched with each other.

They are an extra £15 for those timings, i would prefer to get 8gb for the money.

I did dabble in a little bit of overclocking but my motherboard is shocking!
