This is a relatively new rig (only a few weeks since assembling) and it keeps randomly freezing on me. Cant be temp related as it rarely goes above 40oC. Im pretty sure its due to my crap PSU, but is there anything else it could possibly be? Do you have any wireless stuff around the computer? Cos this can seriously f*** up your computer. - I bought a new TV arerial and placed it next to my computer, I couldnt understand why the coputer kept freezing avery hour or so, it never happened before, until I figured out it was the aerial. Removed it and the pc hasn't frozen since. *touchwood* - My mum got a new mobile phone, and always put it next to the computer, and the computer started freezing even more (it was Win. ME). Told her not to put her mobile near. Not so may freezes now... I'm weary of wireless.
Ok adjust the ram settings you say and bios setting any significant ones I should look out for. Mine freezes for like 10sec and then if fine its completely random in fact just done it now? When I copied this text to word for a spell check? And wireless stuff how about the wireless mouse and keyboard I’m using, lol. Bulb66
I think wireless desgined for the computer such as infrared, bluetooth or wifi are ok, cos I use bluetooth and infrared. [edit] woo, 500th post [/edit]
Well my PNY PC4000 is supposed to be good for 2.5-4-4-7 at 250mhz. I'm only at 210mhz at 2.5-3-3-6, so I dont think the memory is the problem. Happened the first time when i was playing the Doom3 demo, and has done a couple of times. But it has also done it when I've just been browsing the net. It locks up completely and I have to hardware-restart. Hopefully get my new PSU in the next couple of days, so will see if that remedies the problem.
