So I put scorpion back together today, and installed windows. But it has a problem *sigh*

Basically at random intervals, it decides to either reset itself, or give me a BSOD with the friendly message "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" I'm thinking it's a power issue (crappy 400w PSU), but I was wondering if anything else can cause a problem like this, before I spend a shedload on a PSU

    Thanks

Machine check exceptions can be caused by anything, it just is windows saying, something went wrong.

It could definitely be a power issue. I'd try removing one stick of RAM and swapping them if the errors continue, but it sounds more like PSU or overheating. Check the temperatures using SpeedFan :)

Temps are well within tolerance levels and RAM appears to be fine...I did unplug the case fan controller a while ago, and it's been fine since then....any ideas if it's being ok due to a marginally reduced power load, or a problem with the controller itself?

seems to be ok...hah...fatal last words...now i've said that I give it 3 minutes before it BSOD's again.
