So I put scorpion back together today, and installed windows. But it has a problem *sigh* Basically at random intervals, it decides to either reset itself, or give me a BSOD with the friendly message "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION" I'm thinking it's a power issue (crappy 400w PSU), but I was wondering if anything else can cause a problem like this, before I spend a shedload on a PSU Thanks -Brooxy
It could definitely be a power issue. I'd try removing one stick of RAM and swapping them if the errors continue, but it sounds more like PSU or overheating. Check the temperatures using SpeedFan
Temps are well within tolerance levels and RAM appears to be fine...I did unplug the case fan controller a while ago, and it's been fine since then....any ideas if it's being ok due to a marginally reduced power load, or a problem with the controller itself? seems to be ok...hah...fatal last words...now i've said that I give it 3 minutes before it BSOD's again.
