I just want to make rant, I need to install wireless for some one, Im actually buying a part of it as a present for a kind kindergarden teacher out of my own pocket for nothing than to be helpfull. I called up Netgear this morning, pre sales support, I explained to them I wish to use a rangemax access point and should I use a WPN311 or WN311B, with a WPN802 AP. IE: I want to ensure I have good soild wireless. The guy said he was not sure (then why is your desk phone which covers pre sales support being forwarded to your mobile?) but that maybe it was a good idea. He said I would get some one to call me backright away, a consultant, so off I went back to work. Come the late evening and no one has called me back, I called back and off course no one is there to help but some one that sounded like a paperwork shifter, manager, he said let me send you a pdf of our recent cataloge as our site does not get updated often (wtf?), its being updated now. No pdf gets sent. Im tired I dont have the energy to spend 2 hours to research some thing that should be easy to find, so i went to ebay and just bought a "RangeMax Wireless Access Point - WPN802". I have the invoice to pay now after I asking for recorded delivery, then I go back and find this chart eventually. So the access point I have spoken to two people about and googled (which goes to the old one) is two generations old technology. So it seems what I really need is : WN802T rangemax next & WN311T PCI card (for a desktop). Im not impressed and nor iwill the ebay person who I know owe £19.99 for some thing that is no good to me, Im going to have to beg and make some kind of payment which is only fair for f'ing him about, I might have to make full payment and relist it. What upsets me the most is that all of that time I spent calling up, talking, trying to deal with this properly I might as well have been flushing my head down the toilet. I make product recommendations to alot of different people from standard joe public to small business to talking informally to serious business people. If you can't offer pre sales support on the phone dont, only accept it via email. rb
