    Considering what some fans have done with other franchises (FreeSpace 2) they could produce some really interesting things.

    Awesome, the mods that were already available for Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy were pretty interesting, it'd be cool to see what people can do with acess to the source code

    YES! I remember making mods and maps for JK2 back in the day. It is such a good way to learn game dev if anybody is looking for something like that.. It uses a very straightforward file structure so you can pretty much make an entire game by just editing existing files.

    I would recommend this to anyone who is wanting to learn game design/dev and hasn't got the resources for a full featured studio package. You can do anything with the JK2 source code, notepad and something like visual basic if you are compiling the C files.
