I never play MMO's, and the price is crazy.
    But.. WANT!!!!

Imagine all the fun you could do with that mouse!
I assume the mouse comes with macro recording software? That way you could play an FPS, have each weapon mapped to a key for nice swift switching, fragging, melee etc AND have some nice trash talk mapped to taunt people with too!
You could even map WASD and play one handed while drinking a beer.
    WANT!!

Wired mice > wireless! I use the *old* naga and I think it's one of the best mice available. I hate it when companies big up their products with words like epic in the product name :/

you would hope so, delivered to you in bed with the morning paper, £100 for a freaking mouse, methinks this is just overkill, do you really need 17 buttons on your mouse ?, MENTAL.....

So ... when does someone incorporate a surface-charging pad into a mousepad, an solve all these wireless mice battery problems?

Surface-charging pad, why bother?.. Just add a dynamo to the mouse it can be wirless AND charge itself whilst being used :D

I have the original version of this mouse, which I will keep while ordering two of this new version (always have a back up mouse, monitor, KB, etc!)

What a superb idea Jon. That would solve so many problems although field charging is not very efficient yet.

I have a Raza Naga Epic and although I am delighted with it, I do have a couple of issues which I find frustrating...
Firstly the battery life is poor. There is non getting around this. For this kind of money I expect the battery to last me all day and it sometimes doesn't. If I forget to put it in the charger when I go to bed, the chances are that it will run out of juice the next day. Last weekend I had a mega gaming day with the kids and it managed only 8 hours! OK the mouse barely stopped moving in that time but why the heck didn't they just put a bigger battery in it? It's not too much of an issue because you can whip the cord out of the cradle and bung it in the mouse, flip the switch on the bottom and within about 30 seconds you are off again. The mouse wheel flashes red at a battery level of your chosing so you do get a reasonable warning if you wish.

The second problem is that there are no drivers for Windows 8 yet and it is pretty obvious their support guys have not even been bothered to install it. Windows 8 has been available to developers since February and will be on sale big time next month. To not have a working driver in 7 months is a bit slack in my opinion and the instructions given by razer support did not relate to Windows 8. They were telling me how to do things in Windows XP and 7 which are as different in 8 as they are between XP and 7. Initially they just said "we don't support Windows 8. Please use Windows Vista, XP or 7. WHAT?? When I pulled them up on this they did try to help but as i said they didn't have a clue. The problem is that although the mouse works with default settings, it does not connect to the config software for its profile so you are stuck with default speeds and default buttons etc. After a short while I just got the expected "We do not support Windows 8 yet".

And further to this, I am unhappy that my mouse must connect to their Synapse server in the cloud before it will use its pre-programmed profile. What happens if I can't get internet? They market this as a strong selling point in that you can plug your mouse into a computer anywhere in the world and use your profile on it. REALLY? Why the heck is that useful? I want MY profile stored on MY computer. if I want to use it on another computer I can copy it there. What if Razer goes bust? What if their server dies on a Sunday morning, or any time in fact? What if my internet is down or I just can't get internet where I am (for example a laptop)? My mouse will be utterly useless.

BUT... On the plus side it is a great mouse. For most things you can just leave it as it is and set the game up to do what you want the keys 1 to 0 and - = to do but the macro facility is what many of us need to either speed things up or make us more efficient killers for example Face, Stun, Nuke, Nuke. Game over dude! And this it does very well. I reckon they could have put another couple or three buttons on there though, one to the right side where your third finger lies and one or two over the left side left of your index finger almost like they have on the other Razer mice. The two behind the wheel are nice though as you can hit them with the index finger tip or half way down knuckle. The ability to set any illumination colour is also very nice on this mouse. Or you can leave it cycling through the rainbow. Having a different colour for each profile is useful but I would like to be able to switch between profiles on the fly rather than having to right click the icon on the system tray to do it.

My son actually chose the corded Naga 2012 for himeself as he couldn't be doing with the charging thing and also historically cordless mice have been slower. But not any more. Despite what I have said I would recommend this mouse to anyone who wanted a cordless gaming mouse. Just be aware that you must not forget to stick it back in the charging cradle when you go to lunch, supper or bed. Then you shouldn't run into trouble. I am lucky that I get the VAT back on mine as I use it for work and it's not a huge jump from some of the other premium mice from Saitek, Microsoft, Logitek and Coolermaster. Is it worth the extra tenner or perhaps £20? Yes I would say it is.
