i was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on this, i'd like to get into it, what would be the best sort of thing to start off with? Not to pricey and something easy to use and maintain to start with. Thanks :thumb:

HPI. For a start. Electric is easier to maintain than Nitro. Though both have their ups and downs.

If you want to get an MT2 get the 18SS. It is a kit but I don't see the problem with having a kit seeing as you will be dismantling your RTR completely at some point to fix/clean it. You get almost all of the available hopups for the MT2 with the 18SS kit, as well as a much stronger engine (the one in the RTR is a bit bs IMO). You have to buy your own radio gear but that just means you can get better stuff!

Get yourself a nice aircompressor (I got mine for less than £100 new from www.screwfix.co.uk), a squirty bottle, some cheap toothbrushes and some meths, youll be set for life, honestly. When cleaning though, make sure you dont blow air in to the air fileter as youll force the dirt particles further in to the element (i like to put a small bag over it and place a zip tie or elastic band round the bottom.

Scampi, thats a lovely looking Savage :D, I do wish you guys werent so far away, all but one of my friends have dropped out of the hobby and i dont get to see him very often, its not as good bashing on your own :(. My Orange savage, she gets lonely. Its waiting for bits at the moment, ill get some new pics up when i take it out next.

We shall have to at least try to organise a small gathering thats conveinient for everyone, i think itd be a great laugh and we could share experience and what not :).

Personally, I would say having a kit is alot better than buying an RTR, there are just some things about building a kit that you dont get from an RTR. The main thing being experience, but I also felt a feel of acomplishment when i finally sat my savage on my desk, finished.

I left RC racing for good, just as these smaller scale cars were being released. How do they compare to your average 1:10?

Might get out my RC Skyline from the attic and have a go this week.

They handle pretty much the same, just a scaled down version, you can get some serious speed out of them too.
Obv. will have more to say when its running.

Sc4mpi that video makes me even more annoyed about the fact that I have to wait for these stupid parts to come before I can run mine again. Good video, get that ramp in a field and do some real jumps though dude :D.

What did you break? My guess = Nothing, since the rollbar is easy fixed.

Orb, highly recommend a Savage, they are brilliant!
