I am considering doing a nondestructive restore, I have Norton Ghost 10 installed, could I use the data that is within that software to reinstall the current configuration, or will that just return the PC to the current problems.

    Regards

    Ok..........

You do realise 99% of these types of "services" are scams to make you fork out for software which doesn't actually do anything at all?

Have you actually been having problems with your PC?

(By the way, you do not need the RE; in your thread titles)

    Sluggish start up

It the little unexpected things that pop up from time to time, like the new hardware wizard starts up and I have no idea where it came from.

I have started a thread with regards that item

I started a Norton Virus check at 08:20 and have stopped it at 18:40. it had not completed the scan off the system by then.

I'd suggest a reformat/reinstallation might be in order

sounds like your system is messed up on the software side. probably from you downloading random programs like 'PC Mighty-Max v9'.

The best thing to do would be to format as this would remove everything. You'll be wanting toi back-up first though.

    :duh:
Your advice is very welcome as the system is starting to crash on me but automatically restarts itself. Is there any other things that I could try first at this current time. I am using Microsoft Home XP with SP 2 ..... could that be the problem.

Thank You for your time in this matter.
