Just a reminder that tickets go on sale today, if you haven't got yours already... remember they sell out fast.
weeeeeeee 7 30ish it seems to be! -- not a great lineup but then again, not awful either I assume your going?
Also a reminder that parking onsite is limited and you will need to pay £2 for a pass to do so this year. Ah the joy of buying your ticket in september. None the hassle of dealing with a slow website
the line up looks absolutly shocking this year comapred to the last couple... compare this with the hippies from glasto and it looks like fev might actually miss one... 1x VIP pass for sale tomorrow morning if it's crap
Headliners is a bit meh - Pearl Jam would be absolutely amazing but I care so little for Franz Ferdinand and Muse it's not even funny. Shame I'm on holiday
Have to say, not impressed with the line up so far. Audioslave will good though they were awesome at the M.E.N Arena
Web seems to be very dead (Seetickets). It won't sell out instantly, so I'm not particularly worried. £135 though - ouch!
NTL people (in norwich anyway) got through on the website as if it wasnt under any load... All my friends got tickets thru phoning one guy and sorting it all. Possibly the only reason I found to like NTL!
Last year it took around 3 weeks to sell out, and the year before roughly the same time. As for the line up so far, I think its utter crap. Id only go for Muse and Audioslave, theyre both awesome live. Seen Placebo before and they were quite boring, and havent heard any Pearl Jam so I dont really care for them at the mo. Franz Ferdinand dont deserve a headlining spot, theyre simply not headlining material. Kasier Cheifs above Audioslave? Whats that all about? Arctic Monkeys second headliner, someone must have been smoking something dodgy when they placed them there. And My Chemical Crap third from headliner? Gimme a break. The problem is, is that these are pretty much all flavour of the month bands, who all suck. I guarantee these bands wont be around in about 3-5 years time. I know theres still loads more bands to be announced, but Im definitely disappointed. As for the ticket situation, the first batch of tickets that went on sale tonight are sold out, another batch/batches are due some other time (no idea when, could be in days, could be in weeks). See tickets, Ticketmaster, Aloud.com, and pretty much everywhere else have no more Reading Weekend tickets. Leeds tickets are readily available however.
This is annoying. There are a lot of people out there trying to get tickets! Last year I got tickets when they came out no problem. Looks like I'm going to have to really work to get ahold of 3 of them this year. If mean fiddler atleast informed us what is actually happening, most people believe them to be staggered but it would be nice to know for sure. Don't they realise there are thousands of people out there asking for them to take their money off them!!
Theres always a secnd batch released. I doubt itd have changed. I had to be up at 2am for a 3hr drive to HMV in windsor last year to get mine as I was skint when they came onsale first time... Always worth ringing the HMVs around the reading area to see...
Be nice to know when this was. Something is up, every previous year they have been available for atleast a week. The line-up isn't even that mind-blowingly good. You can still get coach tickets and weekend passes, for some, they obviously have tickets left, but would rather sell you them with coach tickets and make more. To be honset, I am genuinly not that bothered enough to drive to the nearest HMV. For some reason they leave out Birmingham when they decided which HMV stores to sell them from. GRRR. One very annoyed possible-customer.
No Glasto. And the lineup isnt too bad if you like those type of bands. Yer the headliners arent really anything special, but for me its not about them but more the bands on the smaller stages...
