How could you not want to own an M61?

The level of engineering that went into its design, the technicalities of its fitting to the A10, the over all speed of the weapon..

Surely the fascination of those aspects alone should cause a desire to own one?

Then again, I see guns in the same way a lot of BT members see cars >.>

I think it's a common thing - a love of engineering. I'd love a minigun (deactivated) sitting in my room.

Pretty sure I have a .50 calibre bullet somewhere at home. Got it at one of those Overlord WW2 events as military memorabilia or something.

Sure, I would love to have one on display, but i do believe those things would be terrifying to fire off one.

I have used some automatic weapons, but I don't want to stand beside something that fires 6000 rounds a minute.

    ...

When I think about it, It would probably be pretty damn awesome of it's mounted properly! :D

So yeah, I changed my mind. I DO want one. :)

Don't you meant the technicalities of fitting the A10 to it?

I believe there is an rifle made in Australia that fires that round.

I have a .50 cal shell on my desk... you can just see it underneath my monitor in the below shot.

You can't have it... but I just thought I'd share that :)

Hahah - Yes, yes I do. Was it Future Weapons that made mention of the A-10's design being so bizarre because of the size of the gun they strapped wings to?

I feel like a complete tit. I completely forgot that I have some deact weapons dealers bookmarked, that ought to be able to help you on your quest.

Fairly reasonable, some decent small-arms inert rounds, and inert mk.77's! (And some deactivated guns!)

    http://www.deactivated-military-weapons.co.uk/mdwsupplies-militaria.html

They don't list specifics - But they do list inert rounds, might be worth giving them a shout.

They don't list inert rounds - But they might be worth a quick call to see if they know of anywhere that does, or if they can get some for you.

    Off topic ( kinda )
The A10 has the GAU-8 Avenger weapons system. Roughly the same as the M61 but bigger :D

    On topic:
To bad youre not in America where every kind of ammo is just a gun show away.

And death to everything within a 20m radius of the target.

    The NTW isn't a rifle.

It's a portable, man fired, doom cannon.
