There was this german site, who were at CeBIT who were playing everything on full 1920 x 1200 on a single 8800GTX witch no problems.
I'll try and find it again, not sure what ram and CPU they use'd

Still, amazing. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you weren't looking close enough.

lol, so you're someone that has to have their stuff cranked to the max.

Admittedly, if I had the money, I would too, my 7800GTX is holding it's own quite well though, should get half decent performance on crysis at 1280x1024, although I won't get any of the DX10 snazzyness, but I'm not that bothered.

When I look at those screens I don't see how ANY gpu can render that!

I know what you mean, if the detail wasn't enough, you've got the massive view distance, it's incredible. No idea why crysis looks this good but Oblivion looks horrible.

Pretty amazing stuff I must say, however these are little scaled down images. It's hard to make a proper judgement without seeing full res images!

The difference will become apparent when it's run on an actual screen and you can see the flickering textures they occasionally miss, hear soldiers shout the same things over and over and get annoyed by the AA. That said, it looks effing gorgeous.

I've seen hi-res comparison shots of this kind before from Cyris, whilst the thumnbail views are pretty similar, as soon as yoiu up the res the game stands out a mile, it really isn't that amazing. The new crysis engine is one of those engines that looks great in screens, but suffers awfully when actually played. Even at maximum graphics (which I will presume is what the trailers out use) the LOD bands are terribly close to the player, so objects only 20 feet away use pretty ugly textures and models, suddenly jumping into sometimes totally different shapes and looks when you get a bit closer.

By the way, I've been wondering, what are actually the new things DX10 brings to games?

Think will be a similar situations as to when Far Cry was released; nobody will manage to play it max settings at a high res until 6-12 months after due to technology restrictions.
