    Hey Everyone,

    PC Specs:

    Corsair HX620
DFI-LANPARTY-X48-T2RSB+ (or something along those lines)
    Intel E5200
    1TB Spinpoint F1 Main HDD
    320GB Seagate Barricuda
    4gb Ram (all G-skill)
    Lite-on DVD PLayer/Burner

So here is the issue. For the past couple months now I have been running my desktop PC as a media server, but I have been getting random crashes (BSODs) at which point the PC will shut down and restart. However, on restart, my BIOS will reset the hard drive boot priority from what I have saved to the default values. This forces me to go into the BIOS, change the parameters for the HDDs again, and restart.

Any idea on what could be causing this? I am downloading the debugging tools to see what the minidump files say and will update with more information.

    Thanks

    --update--

From what I found, most of the stop codes are of the 7A variety which is Windows trying to access a pagefile that is no longer there.

HDTUNE reports that my main drive has 2 unstable sectors and the 320 is fine

I am thinking it is my mobo? I have had bad luck with DFI in the past.

Do you have the same problem with the settings changing on normal boot up or is it running 24/7. The reason being is as it's quite an old mobo the cmos battery might be dead, this would account for the bios forgetting all the settings.

As for the page file, it could be possible that the hard drive is on it's last legs, might be time to start backing up everything just to be on the safe side.

No problem with the BIOS settings when it has been rebooted or shutdown for extended periods of time. It is only after I get the particular BSOD and it fails.

I also turned on SMART capabilities but I have had no error reporting yet.

Like in the update, I am thinking it might be the on board controller on the mobo.
