when i click test in the realtek audio settings, each speaker goes through the proper initialization on the appropriate speaker, so 5.1 is working

however, in every program, such as winamp for example, there is no audio out of the center/rear speakers

    any ideas?

Seeings MP3s are 2 channel it requires hardware acceleration (as described) or some sort of software/plugin/driver to expand audio into the other speakers.
