Just been having a tinkier and doing some over clocking. Got the CPU @4.2 ( dead stable) with 1.3v and max temps on Prime 95 of 55 degrees. The GPUs are maxing out @ 51 and 55 degrees but I havent overclocked them yet.

I have run the CPC bench marks and got 1492 with out any over clocking, I'll run it agin with everything maxed out soon.

It's a nice speedy little rig.

And at some point very soon I will do some decent pics of the finished build

Ah yes, they are coming, maybe even with a little upgrade thrown in just for good measure.

It would seem Mr X has been routing through the spares cupboard again :D:D

Well it's been together for a while and it's coming apart again next week. We have a GTX580 with water block going in.
I am seriously considering throwing in the mobo CPU from Saturday Night Special in to it for a complete upgrade and using one of the 8800GTX's as a PHYS X card.

Then I've got a couple of builds planned for next year.

    Be good peeps, happy Christmas

Fess up Jeff. You're nicking Dylan's build with the 580 an SNS CPU and giving him your old build aren't you :nono:

I would love to nick the 580. One of my 460's is starting to play up.:duh:

But as it stands the 580 with one of the 8800GTx's will totally over run the CPU even @ 4.2GHz. It will probably go to 4.4GHz though.

With the 2 8800's in SLI it is all pretty balanced.

Wtih the 1100T and 8gb of RAM and the 580 it will slaughter any game around.

Also it gives me the excuse to go for a complete upgrade in the next build.

The other option is a mobo and CPU upgrade for him and I keep mine as it is and just replace one of the 460's

Would the CPU actually be that much of a bottle neck when it comes to the games Dylan is currently playing?

Its actually fine as it is now. The 460's would be a more balanced upgrade and give it DX 11 compatibly.

With the 580 and a 8800 the CPU will be the weakest link with out a doubt, no matter how fast I have it running. I think even one the high end 775 quad cores would still struggle to keep up.

At the moment he's not playing anything to demanding. he had BF3 on the PS3 but didn't like it.

So no chance of that being played on the PC.

Carrie you're giving me reasons to nick the 580 now lol

Not heard from him for a while. kinda wondering if one of the creatures hasn't eaten him.:eeek:

Maybe I might have a little lend of it, just for testing purposes...lol

I would feel well guilty nicking off him.

The one he played when you came over with as I have spare copy. He'll remember it.
That machine will handle it easy. It's called joint operations
