I would like to pick up a digital voice recorder for my wife and I to use when meeting with our PhD advisers. It needs to be suitable to place on a table and record a meetings with 2-3 people that will last around 1 hour.
I was thinking about that, it seems that it wold work for dictation but do you think it would work well enough for recording a conversation between two people while sitting on a table?
You can get external microphones that plug into the 3.5mm earphone socket. I used to use one with an iPod Touch to record meetings.
I only ever used it 3-way maximum, usually 2-way and it worked really well with everything picked up clearly. Bear in mind this was 5-6 years ago so I assume, phones/mics/apps have improved since then.
Not really, I had a small mic I bought from Ebay in 2009 that looked like this I'd just experiment with the onboard mic to see what results are like.
