    Hi guys,

I've just moved into my uni accomodation in Montreal for a year (doing a student exchange thing from the UK) and need to set myself up with a computer, etc. I'd use it for music, gaming (steam stuff mostly) and putting stuff on the tv (it's in french, and loads of adverts!), and of course word/excel/etc.

I suppose the gaming defines how "good" it has to be, so I'd play CS, HL, COD a bit, I'm not tooooo fussed about how good quality the image is, I just like a high res no lagging type (I do it for the gaming :p ). I'm quite tempted to buy a larger separate monitor / keyboard / mouse as I find it better for typing than a laptop anyway.

I've been totally out of the loop for specing computer bits (last time was about 2 years ago, and a desktop) so I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction for the specs.

The other important bit, is that I don't have anything with me, so ideally it needs to come in a package with printer / speaker / etc. I can do that bit though, it's just the specs I can't do!

I've been advised to use newegg or ncix to get bits, and order it online. I would consider buying a desktop as they're cheaper, but may not be able to get it back to the UK in one piece (so older cheaper parts would be cool).

    Many thanks guys!
