I am sure I read somewhere a long time ago that you should not vacuum cleaner your PC, as it creates static electricity and can fry it?

Is it the rushing air that causes the static, or the motor that creates static that "runs up" the plastic attachments?

Rushing air and fluff that rub against the plastic parts, especially the tube builds up static electricity. Dry air makes it even worse. (And no, vacuuming up water doesn't help. It just makes the bag go rancid and shorts the motor ;) )

I have a filter and drier on my air line :thumb:

There are ways around that too. When using the vacuum cleaner I loosen the dust with a small clean paint brush and just suck it up with the cleaner, the nozzle of the cleaner never comes into contact with the components and neither do I. Of course, an antistat strap solves the problem entirely but I don't wear it unless I'm in the workshop, where I have no need for a vacuum cleaner anyway because of the air line :)

Chuck Norris called. He wants his cigarette lighter back!

As far as i know any decent hardware shop sells compressed air these days. As long as you shake well and spray it properly it should be fine
