    I'm looking for one about 350-400W, and I don't want it to cost MUCH more than £40.

    Found this one: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=8691

    Is this any good? And if anyone has one they can recommend let me know!

    Forgot to add; it'll be for an AMD CPU, if that matters. Must also be ATX compliant.

    q-tec are cheap and arnt too bad, although just dont expect stable power lines from the q-tec or other psu's at that price. in my opinion its worthing saving for a quality one it will last longer and be better for your computer.

    antec are pretty good.

    Yeah I've seen the q-tec ones and did consider them, I thought they were awfully cheap for what you got though.

    friend got one, when we probed it the 12v line was up and down all the time, similar with the others.
    so i brought an antec, all the lines are as flat as a pancake

    Same. i got a new Antec(480w) and the lines are dead stable :eeek: even at load the lines don't move from:
    3.3v=3.28v
    5v=4.999v
    12v=11.87v

    very stable. And the quality of the cables helped me clean up my case too!. Did i mention it is HEAPS quieter?
    I'm never going to buy any other brand of PSU again! :clap:

    the only cons are that the RPM sensor cable for the bottom fan can't reach the sensor on the bottom of my mobo, and there are too many Molex cables for my liking, and why do they have an AT cable anymore?

    no biggie, but i use the big ziptie thing that they pakage with it to shove the unneeded wires above my PSU (space in my case :p)

    i dunno how much it cost for you guys, but im loving my Global Win SAF Sapphire Series power supply. i payed a pritty penny for mine but it came with custom sleeving and stuff. the power supply has stable voltages, low noise and s***loads of power connectors and it looks great with 3 windows and LED fans. take a look. its worth every penny.

    You got that right, they're cheap. Dunno about the second part. I clicked this thread with the intention of warning you of Q-tec power supplies. Don't buy one. Their cooling system consists a thin sheet of whatever cheap metal they use, drilled with a few holes. In all honesty, I can't say I personally had problems with my Q-tec PSU (except for the fan bearings lasting less than a fraction of the time expected), but I've known people with overheating and instability problems. Cheap, yes. But at what price?

    I love my Antec, dead stable.

    Although I would've prefered the one with the fans sporting the blue lights since my other fans are that colour :rock:

    I'm running a Q-Tec 450w. Have no problems with it but my 12v line in a little worrying:

    +12v: 12.416
    +5v: 4.892
    +3.3v: 3.392

    You get what you pay for.
