Having just dipped my toe in the world of networking and NAS storage I think my cable router is choking my network. So can any one recommend a good router for a gigabit network to work with a virgin cable modem. I have a linksy 100mps router at the moment which I have found works well. Thanks Mike
Personally, i upgraded to the WNDR3700... Not saying that it's the best thing in the world at this moment as i've had it for (i think) just over a year & haven't looked since, but got a very new good price on it at the time & it performs exactly as it should do for my usage.
I'm partial to the Linksys E3000 (since I have it), but the D-Link DIR-825 has the same specs more or less. Both have 2.4/5GHz simultaneous wireless and 4 gigabit ports. I'm not really sure what the requirements to work with a virgin cable modem are though, so these might not be what you're looking for.
A quick squizz & it looks as though both the one i have & the two here all have the same general specs, so 'should' all work...
