Right-o. Right now my network has a buggy switch that loves to drop and/or block connections after being on for a few weeks, to be specific its Netgear GS108.

Which gigabit switch from this list would you recommend? Lets leave out HP, keep the price under 50 euros and wall mounting is a plus but not absolutely necessary.

Sounds like you have a fault. I've been running GS108's and GS105's for literally years, continually, without fail.

Are you certain it's the switch?

Yup. Power cycling temporarily fixes it.

Without a shadow of a doubt, get the Cisco SG 100D-05. I run the 8 port version under my office desk and it is built like a tank, as is all Cisco hardware. It's wall mountable as well. Mine is mounted on two screws under the cable management tray on the back of my desk.

"Designed for small office spaces, Cisco 100 Series switches are available in both compact desktop and rack-mount models. The desktop models offer a wall-mount option for discreet mounting under a desk or on the wall of an office or conference room."
