I've been wearing Montrail Hurricane Ridge GTX/XCR since 2001 and swear by them... unfortunately not sure they are what you're looking for! Still they're very comfy, have excellent feel, grip like dried weetabix, and best of all the uppers are Goretex so you don't get wet feet either inside or out Montrail Hurricane Ridge GTX
Theres a lot of skate shoes been listed, did everyone (well who listed skate shoes) used to or still skate?
used to. i stopped talking to most the people i used to skate with, and then just ended up never skating again. i still have a slightly new setup in my garage
Biker Wouldn't mind getting some skate shoes soled with FiveTen rubber, wont be able to walk anywhere in them but at least I will be able to run up walls.
Come visit me! I work in a clothing and footwear store (An Aussie brand.. they're incredible!).. would set you up with something nice. Short of that.. I've had converse shoes that took me over Canada (and gripped incredibly well for snow..) and Europe, cobblestones and all.
I love my DVS shoes, but my favourite ever pair were my Adio Kenny Andersons. Soo comfy. Not thought about getting some converses? They're pretyty comfy.
oh man i was about to say D3's amazing shoe they were. i pitty the fool who didnt shell out $100 and get a pair i wear chucks all the time. high tops of course. really cofortable once broken in. i run in them alot and my feet are fine. check zappos.com. if they have PF Flyers, they might also have D3's jesus shoes. lol!
I work for blacks (the outdoor shop, not the race just to clarify) and I was gonna recommend meindl or merrell esp the chameleon II wrap slam gtx http://www.cloggs.co.uk/content/ebiz/cloggs/invt/3602/chamwrp_gtx_xcr_pwtr_l.jpg by far the best shoes i've ever owned, pricey but then again they are hiking shoes and fully waterproof!
Some nice suggestions here guys, I might try and find a decently-coloured pair of the new Nike 6.0's - their air soles are great, but finding a nice colour is proving tricky... ChromeX, I've probably seen you in Black's. My old man bought a pair of Merrell chameleon II wrap slam GTX's a couple of weeks ago, and while they're very nice, they have too rigid a sole for my liking.
ever looked at the Footprints line from Birkenstock? nice balance between rigidity and flex in the sole, still cork based - so you get all of the comfort of Birk sandals, with a less aggressive insole. i had the blue/grey vans looking ones and they lasted me 4 years working in a kitchen. they did cost about 180$ usd ... but worth every penny.
ECCO's Cheesecake Have a pair for work, SOOOOOOOO comfy - really nice soft leather and light as a feather! Probably not the sort of shoe mr Krikkit is after though!
