    Heya Peeps,

My dad just gave me one of the coolest presents i've ever had.. he told me to get a globe and pick a country/place i would like to visit..

soooo... i'm calling upon the people here at bit to recommend some countries/cities you have been to and really enjoyed.

At the moment i've just got NewYork and SanFrancisco on my list of ideas.

    Regards,
    Rob.

[Edit] Kinda decided on New York.. what ideas do you have for things to do there?

Hehe no computer.. just a power socket for my digital camera to charge up.

What do i like doing... hmmm... i like going to awe inspiring sights to take photos and i love nice modern architecture and cities.

What i don't like doing are the typically touristy art gallery visits.. tour buses.. that sort of thing bores me.. i like to be out there taking photos of stuff.

    I officially hate you.

The US has always looked tempting...

Japan - looks like a mental place to go, abiet hugely expensive. Superb and vivid culture. I REALLY REALLY wanna go there.

China - for much the same reasons as Japan, but they are still communist. You can get a train from the Capitol (i cant spell it) through to Moscow, then train it through eastern EU back to UK?

Hong Kong - East meets West as above.

Germany - Great place, lovely people, great culture. I wanna go back :waah:

US - San Fran, New York, LA, Florida (Miami). You 21? Can you drive? Take a driving trip up the west coast US, up to Canada.

Nepal - if you like mountains and trecking.

Canada - Make up your own reasons, looks like a nice place though.

    NZ and Aus?

Iserail? South Africa? Brazil? Iraq? :p

I DO recommend the US if you've never been here, get a plane to NYC then get a rental car from there and go coast to coast, I can give you a list of places you HAVE to see on the way, and I'm sure there are more people who can add to it.

Austria and Germany are absolutely amazing, I AM going back there...

I've heard India is a very interesting place, but you have to be willing to eat bananas three times a day and do NOT shake little kids' left hands.

How long are you going to be wherever you're going?

    Hmmm, photos of good views...
i'll tell you from experience i went to NYC probably one of the most awesome cities in the world :D
From there we rented a 30ft long RV and took a trip to canada to see the falls, on the way saw the finger lakes and went to washington.
Probably the best holiday in the world, well best holiday ive ever had.

San Francisco is definately worth a look, along with Death Valley (specifically Zabriskie Point). The Grand Canyon is another good spot, particularly if you've got the cash to see it from a helicopter.

Here's one that hasn't been suggested yet: Iceland. Most poeple only go for a few days as it's expensive, but it was a great holiday. We hired a 4x4 and guide for a day who took us up to a glacier for snowmobile driving and to various fantastic view points.

I'd like to see mattu pitchu (or however the damned place is spelt) and various parts of japan. Perhaps Thailand.

TBH, unless you're totally into going to a city, take this opportunity to go and do a safari somewhere like South Africa (or i think Gambia is the other place). Having been, I can say that it's god damned amazing and everyone should do it once... :) :thumb:

You could do it the normal tourist way of getting on a jeep, but you can go camping out in the national parks with a couple of rangers and see things no-one ever sees otherwise, a great photo opportunity there, i'll bet my left nut on it... :D
