Alright, so, what I need right now is a recommendation for a 19" lcd, 8ms or lower for about $500 CAD. I'm lookin to pick up four (dual 7800gtx's are great ) for a variety of reasons. Right now I'm looking at the ACER AL1951B 19": Size/Type:19" TFT LCD Native Resolution:1280 x 1024 Contrast Ratio:700:1 Horizontal Viewing Angle:150° Vertical Viewing Angle:135° Audio:Two integrated 1.5W speakers Signal Connectors:VGA (analog D-sub)/DVI-D (digital) Chassis Color:Silver/black Pixel Pitch:0.294mm Brightness (typical):400 cd/m2 Response Time (typical):6ms Colors Supported:Up to 16.7 million any one use this lcd?
Just a general question here but why 19"... to me 19" doesn't seem to be a good because: 1. They use the same resolution as 17" screen. True the actual screen is bigger, but the desktop 'real estate' so to speak isn't any bigger for a premium in price, which brings me onto point 2... 2. For a bit more cash, you can get 20" screens, which are slightly larger in size as well as offering increase desktop real estate as resolutions are often considerably larger. And since you are running dual 7800s, my guess is that they can handle it. Personally, I would recommend a dell widescreen 20" TFT... but that's not what you are looking for so i'm not being very helpful am I! I'll let someone else with 19" experience do the rest of the talking...!
