It’s hard to rate the episodes but roughly I will go with this for rankings. Trojan (best overall) Dear Dave (best laugh out episode) The Beginning (best story episode) Lemons (close to the beginning but not quite as slick) Entangled (if it wasn’t for the poor ending would be better) Fathers and Suns (can’t remember much good about this episode apart from Lister talking to Lister scene) I think the first episode was my favourite, probably because it was the first one back but will wait my final decision on the series when I get the bluray and watch them without the episodes being split it half by ads. I think The Beginning and Lemons were on par with each other, more story based and less laugh out moments, with The Beginning just edging it. Fathers and Suns probably had one of the funniest scenes in Lister Jr/Lister sr scene, but the rest was lacking from what I can remember. Dear Dave last week I remember laughing the most at, and Entangled had a good mix of story and comedy but the ending (once they found the woman) was a bit poor a makes it just lower than Beginning/Lemons. As a series overall though I think I would rate them as this: Series 3 Series 5 Series 6 Series 4 Series 10 Series 7 Series 8 Series 1 & 2 I don’t count BTE in the ratings as it was a one off, a tribute almost to Red Dwarf.
I thought that the way Lister became his own dad was detailed in "Ouroboros" in Season 7? I don't remember the Back to earth episodes though, was it re-done?

Just watched episodes 4 to 6, pretty good stuff. Really liked the story in "the beginning", good to see Rimmer be a little less of a s**t. Overall I enjoyed this series - not quite as good as their absolute best but not far off. I certainly would be pleased to see another series if they decide to do one.
