Linux Redhat and NTL!!

    Right, i have just got my linux up and running, once again! but now my internet connection has changed i cannot get it working... I have redhat 7.3, kernel 2.4.19 and using NTL Broadband! I tihnk i need to get DHCP working but i dont know how!

    any suggestions ? thanks!

    First off make sure that your NIC is working because I had lots of problems with mine. Then to enable dhcp the GUI setup for your NIC in X will be able to do this or alternatively running kudzu from the command will be fine.

    I would explain the ifcfg-ethX file but I've forgotten the parameters in it so can't help right now. If you really need to configure your system this way then there are many guides on how to do this.

    EDIT: Oh yeah choose the DHCP setting in these programs. Also you are right in thinking that NTL uses DHCP.

    Just open up neat and create a new conenction, and select your appropriate conenction through the wizrd. Works fine with pretty much everything.

    hey, its all working now :) thanks for all your help :)

    (oh and btw, are there any multi-platform chat things for this (good ones i mean, that have at least MSN + ICQ On it). :) thanks)

    oh yeah, and how do i extract stuff form a Java Archive (.jar file ?????)

    or do i do something differant with it ?
