Went back to some older stuff to root out some portfolio shots. Thought I'd share these from the racing school at the Dubai Autodrome. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
I'm surprised no one has commented on these yet. The first set aren't bad. They look like your basic promotional portraiture kind of thing - nothing too stellar, but not bad at all. If I had to nit pick, I would say that the man in number 1 is a little dark. His face seems to fade into the background, and he gets lost in the surrounding objects. #2 is much better because the man is clearly the subject. The car offers enough clue as to who he is and what he does, but the shot is close enough to identify the man as the subject of the photo. Again, if I had to nit pick I think you could pull back just a little so that his foot isn't cut off, and the man and car would really stand out if the background had a little more bokeh. In the second set of images, #3 stands out for me. The color is vibrant, and I love the abstract shapes. I don't care what the object is, I just enjoy looking at the image it creates. The rest of that particular set are OK, but not as good as #3. The two shots of the airplane don't do anything for me. They look like well-made snapshots of an airplane - like the kind a tourist might take before his flight takes off. The images don't offer any real subject to retain my interest. Thanks for sharing! -monkey
only 106 views before a comment. Nice. Thanks Supahmonkeh. For the article the on the racers, #2 and #6 ran, with #2 cropped even further. The rest, well I'm kinda messing about to see what comes out, and if I like it, it might become something more....marketable.
These are really good. Liking the jumbo jet bottom, looks like that thing is abnormally wide! The race car drivers/cars are real nice too.
