Nostalgia? That alone is a big winner in DC circles.

Ultimate control over the end product and no license fee to pay? More money if the console actually makes a profit?

Hey, sorry to bring up an (kinda) old thread but I'm really interested to see how this turned out.

    Any progress?

Yeah come on bindi, is this going anywhere or was it a spur of the moment idea?

I've had no time what-so-ever. I'm in Germany for a week from tomorrow and after that I might get time later this month but no promises. :(

Well I tried it last weekend and I'm still trying it.

Mostly getting an OS installed right is the biggest bitch - XP SP3 has issues with HD Audio I couldn't fix (I streamlined the install! ****!) and Win7 beta doesn't seem that compatible so far (only two I've got to hand).

I've got the emulation software to work on my other PCs with Vista, but I found out there's no easy way to rip my own DC disks or "make" a GD-ROM. Not only that but the emulation software isn't great - it doesn't pickup the GF8200 IGP and there are errors in the display.

Im not entirely sure where to go from here- there's more software work than Im capable of.

My Opteron 148 struggles to run Dreamcast games at a playable speed.

I tried nulldc and the games run great.

Problem is there is no support for gamepads. That's just stupid.
