Im crying with ya Zap...I was expecting a black plexi shelf at the top, covering everything, with the cdrom ejecting through it and all of the switches and stuff there as well.

Just a different approach. The black sides will look sharp, just loses its military touch.

ahhh, ok then. Keep forgetting that its not as large as I thought.

BTW, I saw you added me to MSN, but I havent seen you on. Just did a reinstall over the weekend, so I wasn't on much. I have the program, I think, but it won't run, and I want to talk to you about it. TTYL.

Surely you can stick a cd drive in there....

If I can manage 2 hard drives and 2 cd drives with scuzzi you can manage it in that...

    There's bags o' room

    ;)

    Window tint update:

Following the instructions, which were badly translated to english, I begun tinting.

Won't bore you with the details as this has been done b4 many a time by macro. Simply tint one side of the window and cut out all the holes with a very sharp knife.

    Dry run

I decided to use some small beading on the front window to make it look tidy. Simply superglued it to the panel with blobs every so often around the inside.

I also drilled holes in the bottom of the case for the motherboard tray. I will use the same plastic rivits for mounting it as I used for the PSU.

Next step will be fitting the windows in place ... almost finished :D

Yeah, nice one on the tinting, I hope it went nicer than my tinting experience :naughty:

Looking nice there. Good job.

Or does the camera not show your mistakes in the tinting :naughty::hehe:
    Just joking.

got a couple of tiny bubbles on the rear window. Not really noticable unless you get really close up to the back of it. It was much easier to tint the front becuase it didn't have lots of big holes. So a tip for tinting is, not to try and tint a holy piece of acrylic ;)

I made sure that everything was dripping wet b4 applying the tinting film, then just squeezed all the water out with a car window wiper.

In the picture above of the window in the case, the acrylic still has protective coating on one side which is why it looks a bit grey rather than black.

More pics when I get round to it :)

Yeha I know, when I did my window everythign was SOAKED.

I've got a few little micro bubbles as well, but mine formed over time, so there's nothing I can do to get htem out, I've tried.

Also I love teh avatar, Furi Kuri r0x0rz. One of my all time favourites

Well good luck to you on teh rest fo your case!

Almost finished the box now, after this update all that will remain is putting in the hardware.

Its been short, but I don't have time or money to build electronic circuits for anything fancy.

To begin with I got hold of some Silicon to install the windows.

A generous coating around the hole in the case was applied and then the window placed on top. Held down with everything heavy I had to hand.

The same thing was done to both sides and a generous helping of silicon was applied around the edge of the window on the inside.

You can see the silicon in this picture.

The silicon is very strong after it has had time to set. The thing i was worried about was whether the silicon would stand up to the pressure when pressing the power switch. The silicon is more than strong enough for the job :)

    One power switch

    Installed, looks sexy :)

The rear panel showing the hole for the ATX I/O plate and blowhole. You can also just about see the silicon has overflowed around the rear panel, but never fear I will sort this later ;)

    One fan grill...

    And a 60mm quiet fan

    The I/O plate

Couple of shots showing how glossy it looks..

You may have noticed that in that picture above there is no silicon around the edge of the window. This is because I carefully removed it with a sharp knife and chisel.

By cutting the silicon that had overflowed and scraping it off very carefully with a chisel I managed to remove the silicon without scratching the plastic. I propbably should have taken precautions before starting with the silicon but by making the mistake I have now learnt.

A lighting test with a blue and a green cathode. Stunning :D

Really like the lighting effect and sexy power switch....

Maybe a laser cut fan grill later ?
