Duke Nukem Forever remade! As in remade like the original Duke Nukem 3D was lol. I don't mind the new game at all, in fact I quite like it, but I just wish it was like the original game
Oh, I've got a couple more that I'd like to see remade; - Blood (It should live again) - Interstate '76 (that was great fun at the time) - Carmageddon And in case any developers pick up on this thread. What we want is simply updated graphics and physics, but leave the gameplay alone. For instance, in an all-out old-school FPS such as Blood we want the guy to be able to carry vast quantities of weaponry and ammunition - that's just how it is supposed to be. None of this rifle + sidearm nonsense - give us the ability to lug around the collective arsenal of a small country.
This. I was just talking with the Mrs about either doing a half-remake (i.e. adding a few more interface options and correcting a few bugs, but leaving it unchanged for the most part), and how utterly, insanely profitable that would be. Who honestly wouldn't buy a new copy of Theme Hospital v2.0 for £10 or so?
The original unreal tournament with state of the art graphics and physics. The best shooter ever with the greatest selection of weapons ever deserves to live in glory again.
Doom. System Shock 2 would be tasty as I never got round to it. Deus Ex with really pretty visuals + improved combat would be good too.
You can play System Shock 2 on a modern PC with some really nice graphics mods. It looks ok. Well worth checking out.
I loved theme park on the Amiga, add a few more rides, options and clean up the graphics a bit, nothing more - sold!
Oh ... oh oh oh ... OH! I think I just came in my pants a little. I am very excited. Much gibbage will be had.
Try http://code.google.com/p/corsix-th/ -> Somebody is creating an open source clone of TH, fixing a few bugs and adding a few features (and supporting decent resolutions!). Not really complete at the moment, but it plays quite well considering! Basically the entire Bullfrog back catalogue would do me. I spent years of my life on Dungeon Keeper 1, Theme Hospital and Syndicate Wars. Beyond Bullfrog titles, I'd say Transport Tycoon Deluxe with everything kept exactly as it is, just a graphical update. OpenTTD is still awesome though. I know this may be a bit obscure to some, but anyone heard of Legend? It was on the Amiga and PC, otherwise known stateside as 'The Four Crystals of Trazere', a basic isometric dungeon crawler-puzzler with an awesome custom spellmaking mechanic. And finally, Heroes of Might and Magic III. IV (ugh!) V and VI just don't compare. All the fans want is HoMM3 with better graphics and slightly more balance - the mechanics were near perfect.
I agree Blood should live again I loved Unreal Tournament, brilliant game, I still play it now as well lol.
I think the console crowd would fap it up too as there are no decent arcade multi-player shooters made any more.
Someone mentioned the open source clone, but I didn't think it was anywhere near as rounded and polished as that, thanks!
A community revamp of Gears of War in a different engine (like Black Mesa) would be awesome. PC release of that had so many bugs and shortcomings that I refused to buy it, despite it being one of my favourite games on xbox.
Space Hulk: Give it to Relic, make it 5 player co-op and drop the freeze time aspect as it shouldn't be needed anymore. Leave the autosense feeds (helmet cam) from your team mates though. Possibly add a 6th player as a GM controlling the genestealer deployment. X-Wing vs Tie Fighter: 64/128 player support, no levelling or RPG malarkey just missions where you shoot the other side. Big furballs, max mayhem.
