    Hi all,

I've been looking at setting up a remote to use with my PC, and I wondered if anyone here has ever used the IrDa header on their mobo for this.

Is there such hardware available, or will I have to use a Serial / USB receiver for my remote?

Never tried anything like this b4, so any help would be much appreciated. Ta.

You should ask Meblin. He has guides on his website for making infared recievers. Although they use serial ports, not the mobo headers.

ohhh my ears are burning :D

The IrDA is not very good for controling your putter because of the type of signal it receives/transmits and there is very little in the way of software to control anything with it.

I would recommend using the serial port version as it's very easy to make and there is lots of software available to do all sorts.

Have a look at my site for more info.
