So, I finaly got my rear into gear and loaded up my old P2 350 as an Stereo MP3 player. It is running Win 2000 and has a hard drive with all my (completely legal) MP3s on it. It is connected to my network via a wireless network card. (I'm getting into this mp3 thing, finaly).

What I want to do, is run this computer with a dummy load on the monitor/keyboard/mouse, and remotely control wimamp via the main internet station on that floor. So I can load playlists, start/stop/pause, etc.

I have already tried NetSync, but it doesn't work all that well for this application, as it syncs the 2 comptuers together, requiring the all of them to pull the music off a central location.

I would like a program that emulates WinAmps appearance, but is realy a remote puppet for the Winamp on the other machine. Playlist control is a must, and I don't want the control computer downloading the music as well as the stereo client.

Anyone know of such a program?

It doesn't have a pretty interface, unfortunately, it's web-based. But wwwinamp will do all that. :)

Btw, are you wanting to output the music client side, or server side? Isn't clear from your first post. :)

What is the admin username? I can't seem to get in to the 2nd level of controls...

Other than that, the program should work quite well for my purposes :D

    I *think* by default, it's admin/changeme. :)

To be sure though, it'll tell you in wwwinamp/wwwinamp.ini

    Look for the lines
    Code:
; login:password pair for admin access (lets you do more than simple queueing)
    AdminLoginPassword=admin:password
Before the colon being the username, after the colon being the password. :)

    It does. ;)

Just alter your line 98 (or there abouts) to look like this:

    Code:
96 ;; Extensions is a semicolon delimited list of extensions to scan
97 ;; the paths in DBPath.
    98 Extensions=mp3;ogg;wav;[b]m3u;[/b]
Nice find that. Think I'll use that instead of the vanilla version.
