I'm upgrading my dad's computer using my old AMD A8 barebone leftovers (mobo, cpu, ram)
he had a pentium 4 prior to my old A8

it dual boots win 7 and win 10
win 7 is on a mechanical drive
win 10 is on a SSD

win 10 wont boot unless the win 7 drive is connected.

win 7 will boot from its drive regardless of the win 10 drive being connected.

How do i get rid of win 7 and boot win 10 directly off the SSD without the need for the other drive?

win 10 has detected the new hardware no issues. it's just a boot issue

got a win 10 USB installer that won't detect 10 install if thats the only drive connected.
not tried with the win 7 drive connected also.

    What should I do?

    got it sorted with easyBCD

backup... which gives the option to move the boot drive.

then remove the option for win 7 in the boot menu.

so I can format the win 7 partition/drive. and fully install to the case he has.
