I wanna remove the stock ramsinks on my ASUS GF FX5900 Gamers Edition, and replace them with Tweakmonster BGA rsm sinks.

    Questions:
    1. How should I remove my old ramsinks without damaging the BGA memory
    2. Is it really worth it?

I'm gonna flash the card to a FX5950Ultra.

    Cheers,
    Mike

if possible, put the ramsinks in a vice and rotate the card sideways
i use this technique to remove heatsinks from gpu's all the time, works great when there are no caps in the way to get busted...oh well..

#1. What kind of glue?? epoxy or just weak superglue?? You could try the freezer trick (put it in the freezer and then try and break them off once it has cooled.)

#2. No its not so dont risk it unless they come off relly easy.

Well as the memory on a card usually gets a lot of it's heat from the core believe it or not, I doubt it's worth it. Adding them is fine but there's really no sense in changing them.
