They've axed Button! Why didn't they get rid of Trulli, who Button has out performed on a regluar basis?

Flavio Bloody Briatori, that's why. What an ARSE!

Jense is being tight lipped as to who he'll be driving for next year. I just hope to god that it isn't Jaguar....

(And that's comming from a Jag fan!)

I missed the press conference but Jenson was going to announce what team he was going to be racing for next year. Talk was it's either McLaren, Jag or Toyota.

No - Aparently he'll announce who he's going to drive for at the German GP.

Dont see it being McLaren as Coulthard is confirmed for next year plus they still have Hakkinen and Raikkonen signed.

    Taken from www.motorsport.com

    Button being interviewed

Q: What are you plans for the future?

A: I cannot say exactly, but I think I am in good shape for next year. I am looking forward to the opportunity. Obviously, at this time, I am not able to say any more, certainly not for a few days. But I know what I am doing and where I am going.

Its a bit like Team Green dropping Dario Franchiti then bring in Sara Fisher from IRL

    It was only hypothetical .

Just trying to make some sort of comparison for our American cousins.

Errrmm , if you aint being sarcastic here we go.

Jenson Button who drivers for the Renault Formula 1 team has been told his services will no longer be required next season.

Jenson has regularly out qualified/performed his team mate Juano Trulli whom Renault have decided to retain for next season.

People are a bemused as to why the team have decided to keep Trulli but get rid of Jenson Button.

My comparison to the CHAMP car/IRL was supposed to help show how ubsurd the decision was .
Dario Franchiti is and excellent driver in the CHAMP car series in the US whilst Sara Fisher who drives in the IRL series in the US is a lesser driver.

This probably leaves you even more confused but what the heck.:D

Looks like Jense is going to BAR. After the interview with Dave Richards before the race, it looked pretty inevitable:

    ITV-F1: Button Heads For BAR

Just hope that they can give him a decent car.

Hmmm, so BAR has signed button for two years, with an option for a further two. Question now is - Who's he replacing at BAR?

Clever money would be on Panis, but as Dave Richards has been trying to get JV to take a paycut....:D

I wouldn't compare jensen to franchiti, its just that he's betyter than trulli. shame he can't stay with renault, they were slowly but surely improving

Panis' contract expires at the end of this season, Villeneuve has another 1 or 2. But I think BAR are wanting to get a settled team for the next 3-5 years (hence 4 year deal for Button), so if Villeneuve doesn't agree to an extension then he could be on his way too. Panis hasn't really done much with BAR, so they could have another new driver shortly.
