Current system = WiFi Router connected to a switch box in another room as the Wi-Fi signal in that room is poor. I want to get rid of the cables coming out of the switch box. Can I just replace the switchbox with a WiFi router/access point - so I can get Wireless in the other room.

replace it with an access point. you don't need a second router.

obv. you'll still have a cable between your router and the access point!

Yes I would keep the cable from the router to switch or access point.

Any suggestions of Access Point, haven't got a lot of cash to play around with

there may be cheaper ones elsewhere, but thats what scan have for access points.

one other question I've thought of - can I plug my network cable from the router into the switchbox first and then from the switchbox to the Wireless Access Point - because I've got a couple of things in the other room that isn't wireless.
