on other board software, if you reply to a thread in which the last post was by you in the last 15 or so minutes, the last post is automatically appended to, rather than replied to. i think this is a rather neat feature; are there any plans to implement this on bit 2.0?
I think this is in vb 3.6.x which we'll be upgrading to. One thing I do know it has is a 'similar thread' thing - if someone posts a repeat thread in a different forum it says "sorry, you've already posted this exact damn thing elsewhere, idiot" or words to those effect. I think that is pretty neat
At least on Bit it's possible to edit earlier posts. I know one forum with about 15 minutes available before you're locked out, which gets annoying at times when you just need to correct a link or add something. But with some new members treating the board like IRC I agree it's a neat idea to lock out string-posting. I'd also like to see quotes from earlier posts limited to 25 words...
Something to stop images appearing in quotes would be a good idea imho. Hacks me off when people quote a bunch of images - especially if it's in the next post.
Maybe limit of 1 picture in a quote? That way someone could highlight the relevant image that is being questioned or commented on.
