Ok, i know the first thing everyone is thinking is ZALMAN!, but for a second opinion which will give me better cooling performance a reserator 1 or a Thermalright SP-97 with a Vantec Tornado? i have the funds for water but i can save a few bucks buying ait cooling.
Bit of a sweeping statement there. It hardly sucks, my P4 3.0c runs no hotter than 48C on it, overclocked or not. And in absolute silence I might add.
My 2500+ Barton runs at around 35 with the zalman so i'm definitely happy with it. The silence is bliss. Voted accordingly.
its not that i can't afford it. its that my parents don't understand what it does and why it costs £200.
lol! 50/50 so far, thats a lot of help! Scratch that, I'm getting the Air solution and getting myself a nice lovely 9800 Pro I wish the 7th would hurry it's ass up!!
id say the reserator would be a good choice if you had money to burn. Im trying to source one at the mo so i can use it as a Reservior , rip out the pump and just use it as a giant res should do the job morgan .
I'd say the reserator too. You could tell your parents that it's like supercharging a car. That's what I did till my dad got partways bit by the quiet cooling bug.
look here! http://www.bit-tech.net/review/315/8 too bad they tested against the sp-94 and not the sp-97
im he might notice a thing the size of the reserator aftera couple of days and the noise difference too.
Reserator kit just for the looks and a bit of performance Then again i have a slk-900a with a evercool 92mm fan with a OCNZ superpanel its a nice set up
